Exchange Server: A Boon to Organizations

Exchange server is an application mostly adopted by organizations for smooth running of business functions. This application is mainly aimed for exchanging data and important notifications for business at real time environment. It is used for sending or receiving mail, maintain business contacts, and use it for business communication. It helps businesses in accumulating information related to businesses activities with the help of mobile and web access. This application is outlined by the Microsoft. It also assists in making storage of data, information, and knowledge for future use.

This application is designed to execute communication of high level which surpass and goes beyond the business standards and its output. It is adaptable to various browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft internet explorer, Google chrome, etc. It is compatible to various other software and applications such as Apple’s advanced phones to name a few. It also assists in preventing viruses, spam to get through PC’s.

Actually, this application is messaging service provided by Microsoft to its users. Exchange server support is when introduced was used as only for sending and getting information through mail with the help of internet. It was firstly induced in Windows 95 as server exchange 1.0. It assists largely to come up with easy version of mails. Then its new version was introduced with Windows 98 although it was not in-built it is available in CD to be installed. The outlook express messaging service was accommodated in Windows 98 version.

Exchange server 4.0 was one of the pioneer efforts in messaging services to business clients and customers. It was an advanced version to messaging service. Exchange server 3.5 messaging has been replaced by exchange server 4.0. Exchange server assists in exchanging information and data to 4 computers in 2000 version of exchange server and 8 computers in 2003 exchange server. In 2003 exchange server version, there is availability of two servers clustering and one is activated at a time.

2007 version of exchange server assists in making copy of data and information received by mail server for some future use. It is in built in this version of messaging. It does not need to access information on other computers by sharing them. It is known as cluster continuous replication. There is also another type of clustering which was in prominence in older versions to Windows 2007. It helps in copying and saving information and data in another drive in the computer system and it is provided with backup point for any accidental failure of computer system. It is also gives security against malware threats or antivirus threats.
